A Traffic Control Plan (TCP) is a site-specific engineering document that shows how traffic will be managed during construction, utility, or maintenance work in a public roadway. It specifies sign locations, device placement, lane configurations, flagging positions, detour routes, and safety measures required to protect workers and the public.
In California, TCPs must conform to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the California Supplement. For Caltrans and most major city projects, the plan must be stamped and signed by a licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
Types of TCPs We Prepare
District 7, 8, 11, and 12 submittal-ready plans, PE-stamped, formatted to Caltrans standards. Lane closure windows, contractor coordination, and inspector sign-off included.
Formatted to the specific requirements of LADOT, LA County DPW, OCTA, City of San Diego, RCTD, and 50+ Southern California cities.
Water main repairs, gas lines, fiber optic pulls, electrical upgrades. We understand utility-specific work zone requirements and SCAQMD coordination needs.
Complex projects with multiple stages, weekend closures, or shifting work zones. We coordinate the full phase sequence into a single cohesive submittal package.
Pipe bursts, sinkholes, emergency road repairs. We offer same-day TCP turnaround for qualifying emergency work when getting on-scene fast matters.
High-speed, high-volume freeway work requires precision. We specialize in mainline closures, ramp work, median projects, and bridge work on state highways.
